Alanya
Alanya district is a part of Antalya province and is located
135 km east of Antalya. About 40 km east of Alanya is
Gazipasa province, where at present the new airport is being
built, and in the west Manavgat / Side. Alanya, "Pearl of
the Turkish Riviera”, is world famous for its kilometres of
beautiful sandy beaches, clean, crystal clear sea and mild
Mediterranean climate. The historical past, lot of natural
sights and multi–cultural way of life in Alanya will give
you a unique experience.
Kleopatra Beach is one of the landmarks of Alanya. The first
settlements here are dated BC. Until the development of
tourism, agriculture, fisheries and stockbreeding were the
main source of livelihood for the origin settlers „Yörük"
(nomad race). They spent winters in the mild climate of
Alanya and in the summers they moved with their cattle to
the pastures of the Taurus Mountains.
Due to the growing role of tourism, locals settled down and
numerous boutiques and hotels become part of their lives.
The current population structure of Alanya has changed a lot
during last 15 years and, as a result, nowadays Alanya is
European and a multicultural city. With the development of
tourism in Alanya, businessman from Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir
and other cities built first hotels here and opened stores.
Then the Turkish people who lived in foreign countries
started to come back and invest their money in tourism, thus
promoting popularity of Alanya in Europe.
Development of infrastructure and healthcare, building of
modern hotels, guesthouses, shops and houses contributed to
first purchase of holiday homes by Europeans. Until now,
over 10.000 apartments were sold to Europeans (mostly to
Germans – approximately 6500 flats) and most of them live
here permanently as our new local friends. In Turkey Alanya
is humorous known as a holiday place, which was conquered
and liberated by Europeans.
The popularity of Alanya among domestic and foreign visitors
is based on the special quality of tourism facilities,
including high-class hotels and world-famous beaches. Many
miles of beautiful beaches with crystal-clear water are open
and accessible to everyone. Hotels in Alanya are very nice
and comfortable, as well professionally well-managed. Hotels
